Seems just a while ago, when I innocently started in AOV as an outsourced generalist for Go-[US states].com… Now, exactly, my service to the same client turns a year old.
Time really flew swiftly.
October 2005, I graduated. I still don’t have our Project Study finished, yet we got no more subjects left to take, so we’re given the privilege to march. I never attended the graduation though.

November 2005, I sailed to Cebu island to review at EXCEL for the board examination. I remember the taxi driver overcharged me. I paid him P130 where in fact other taxis could get me to the review center for P50.
December 2005, I went home for the holiday break. Spent most of my time working on our project study. and much more of it playing Red Alert 2 and Crimson Land. I went back to Cebu on January, trying to finish parts of our project there.
February 2005, end of general review and start of the refresher course. I went back to Iloilo to finalize our project. Many modifications were done. We need to have it done so we can catch up passing our TOR for the board exam. March came and the Ormoc landslide news was airing everyday. More days passed, my teammates lose hope we could get the April 2005 board exam. Me too.
Detour. I need resources while staying on the city completing our project. A Job Fair was held on CPU on March 10. We (me and Pipo) applied at Eversun. Reported for interviews, and did project tests. And we hang on there – hoping a call for first day of duty might come. None. I keep on searching available jobs – on announcement boards, classifieds, radio, tv… It’s either I’m not qualified for the job or it’s not what I want. Or they don’t want me. Or there is no availability at all – for my field of training at least.
Sometime on April, we successfully presented our project study: Digital Crowd Size counter for Rose Memorial Auditorium of Central Philippine University. No reasons to stay in the city after that.
I spent my vacation at home. A usual scene for a newly grad. I returned to the city on May 15 for official family business. Then, I continued my job hunting. I was about to pass my resume and application to some companies yet I received a call from Eversun, May 16. I started working May 17. And today, is again May 17. I’m just a year older.
I’ve known much of the web business since. From data mining, to quality assurance, to article writing, to blogging, to SEO, to graphics designing, to logo making, to website design, to html, to css, to flash, to php, etc. I discovered, it only takes a good PC, a reliable internet connection, and some talents to find a stable livelihood on the net. And maybe, some luck.
